Ad campaigns exist to manipulate us to buy or do something. Ad campaigns are effective, like pop-up ads that never seem to close. Once we view an advertisement, we seem to remember it very well, kind of like they are brainwashing us. As well, everywhere we go, there is always some sort of advertisements around us.
An ad campaign I thought was clever were from several ads from the HP brand of printers. This wasn't exactly pushing the consumer to buy their product, but to conserve their products, by trading them in. Consumers are entertained by the clever use of visuals. In all three advertisement, it shows the different ways an old printer could be re-used. The ad shows the printer can be used as vases, fish tanks, and as a book shelf. Another ad campaign is the logo. The HP logo is easily recognizable, the brand itself is well known (well I see this brand at school a lot), even though it is on the bottom right corner.
What makes this a great ad is it attracted me, it made me want to understand what this ad is. The slogan of these following ads are, "put your old printer to better use, trade in". I enjoy advertisements that have a positive message. The used printers covey and promote the message of the advertisements, to trade in and describes the endless possibilities printers can be used instead of printing. Also, these advertisements were very simple and straight to the point. I could easily find the concept of the ad.

Hi Rachel! I do agree that most ads you come upon should be able to attract the views attention. I like how you explained what you liked about the ad and what you found appealing. It does make the ad more effective if it can be understood by others. The ad you chose is looks like its very effective. I will definitely remember this ad! ((((: nice post.
